Graceful White Shrimp
The Graceful White Shrimp, also known as the Graceful Long-arm Shrimp, has a cylindrical body that is smooth and translucent. Adult shrimp typically measure 35–80 mm in length and weigh between 0.4–2.4 grams.
The Graceful White Shrimp is the only economically valuable shrimp species in Hulun Lake, characterized by rapid growth, a broad diet, strong reproductive capabilities, and high nutritional value. It is a high-protein, low-fat organism, with raw shrimp containing significantly more crude protein than fish from the same waters. The spawning season of the Graceful White Shrimp in Hulun Lake occurs from late May to mid-August, with the peak breeding period from mid-June to mid-July.
The Graceful White Shrimp is an omnivorous animal, feeding on plankton, plant debris, bacteria, and similar organisms throughout its life. The yield of fresh shrimp is very high. Since the 1990s, the annual production of fresh shrimp in Hulun Lake has been increasing year by year, now reaching approximately 2,300 tons per year.
