Speaking of the popular single-origin coffee this year, Honduran Sherry coffee beans are certainly among the top. Processed with refined washing and whisky barrel fermentation, they offer distinctive flavors like whisky notes and vanilla cream, captivating the taste buds of coffee lovers. Whether or not you’ve enjoyed specialty coffee before, this Sherry might be a great place to start.

Sherry coffee beans come from Honduras, a country located in the northern part of Central America. The coffee farming model in Honduras is primarily based on small family operations—over 90% of coffee growers are smallholder farmers, and among them, 70% manage farms that are less than 2 hectares. The coffee industry has created more than 1 million jobs in Honduras, accounting for about 38% of the agricultural GDP. With its unique coffee-growing environment and climate, Honduras is the world’s seventh-largest coffee producer and has become one of the most sought-after coffee origins in the market.
The Sherry coffee beans are produced at the Mocha Estate in Masaguara, an autonomous municipality in the Intibucá Department of Honduras, grown at an altitude of 1500–1700 meters. The beans are a blend of Caturra, Catuaí, and Pacas varieties. When harvest season arrives, farmers pick ripe coffee cherries, which are then processed using refined washing and whisky barrel fermentation methods at the estate.
After cupping by Front Street Coffee, this Sherry coffee exhibits a strong whisky aroma in the dry fragrance, with vanilla scent in the wet aroma. Upon tasting, it delivers the whisky notes, smoothness of vanilla cream, berry acidity, along with aftertastes of dark chocolate and honey.
In terms of flavor, it boasts a rich and captivating profile, hitting all the right notes for younger palates. No wonder it has garnered so much love and praise.
