Xiao Jin Fruits and Vegetables
Miwang Village in Xiao Jin Town, Xifeng District, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, is located on the eastern side of the Xifeng-Xiaojin section of the Xichang Highway. It has a population of 3,588 and 8,126 mu of arable land, including 2,000 mu of fruit orchards and 1,800 mu of melon and vegetable fields. It is one of Gansu Province’s model villages for new rural construction.
In 2010, Xifeng District comprehensively advanced the pace of agricultural industrialization, constructing a 10,000-mu facility vegetable base around Miwang Village and six other administrative villages in Xiao Jin Town. This led to the development of a vegetable variety lineup dominated by eggplant, chili pepper, cucumber, and tomato production, initially forming a distinctive industrial belt. This not only completely resolved local residents’ difficulties and high costs in accessing fresh vegetables but also ensured increased income for farmers.
It is understood that the first phase of Xiao Jin Town’s 10,000-mu vegetable base involved the transfer of 6,300 mu of land, with the construction of 800 solar greenhouses and 300 bamboo-framed greenhouses. The base will eventually cover 20,000 mu, producing 22.54 million kilograms of off-season vegetables and 12 million vegetable seedlings annually, generating annual sales revenue of 97.088 million yuan and increasing farmers’ income by 46.6633 million yuan.
