　　Yichuan Wood Carving

According to traditional customs, before an elderly person passes away, their children carefully carve a coffin for them, decorating it with lifelike patterns. These mainly feature hundreds of designs such as the dragon and phoenix in harmony, the phoenix greeting the rising sun, the Eight Immortals (upper, middle, and lower), the Five Blessings Surrounding Longevity, and the Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars. The wood carvings on the doors, windows, eaves, brackets, and plaques of traditional buildings are also simple yet elegant, capturing both form and spirit, and possess high artistic value.
