　　Yan'an produces a wide variety of beans that are known for their vibrant colors, plump grains, excellent quality, and high nutritional value. These beans are a key local export product. The city has an annual planting area of 40,000 hectares, yielding hundreds of thousands of tons. Major varieties include red beans, double-green beans, mung beans, cowpeas, peas, kidney beans, and lentils. Take double-green beans as an example: they are emerald green in color, as lush as jade, rich in protein (over 40%) and various vitamins and trace elements. They are versatile, serving both dietary and medicinal purposes. They can be boiled and eaten directly, sprouted, or processed into bean-based side dishes. These beans are one of Yan'an’s major agricultural exports, generating foreign exchange and being shipped to more than ten countries and regions including the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands. Yan'an assorted beans are available at tourist shopping spots in scenic areas, major supermarkets in the city, and souvenir shops. The typical price is 15 yuan per bag.
