Qingjian Jujube is a geographical indication certification trademark.

Qingjian features a temperate continental monsoon arid climate, with an average annual temperature of 10°C, annual precipitation of 450 mm, and a frost-free period of 200 days. The soil and climate create ideal natural conditions for jujube growth, making it part of the world’s original jujube cultivation center. The jujubes produced here are large, thin-skinned, thick-fleshed, small-seeded, and sweet and refreshing. Their levels of soluble sugar, vitamins, starch, and other nutrients are significantly higher than those from other production areas across the country. As recorded in *The Book of Songs* — “In the eighth month, we pick the jujubes” — and *Strategies of the Warring States* — “The north benefits from jujubes and millet. Even without meticulous farming, the yield from jujubes and millet is enough to feed the people” — the cultivation history of jujubes here dates back three to four thousand years. To this day, thousand-year-old jujube trees can still be found in the region. In the 17th year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign, Wu Qiyang wrote in the *Continuation of the Qingjian County Annals*, under the section “Land Tax Records”: “Jujubes are traded by locals to Shanxi, Yulin, Ningxia, and other places, and the local people rely on them for their livelihood.” This shows the long history of jujube trading. In 1968, compatriots from Hong Kong wrote to the central government and Chairman Mao, specifically requesting “Qingjian jujubes from the Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region of our motherland.” In 1970, Xinhua News Agency published an article titled “Qingjian Dates,” which attracted merchants and dignitaries from around the world, greatly boosting the reputation of Qingjian jujubes. In 1990, the TV documentary *A Journey to the Jujube Homeland* was broadcast on both the national television station and 13 local stations, further enhancing the prestige of Qingjian jujubes. In May 1995, at the first national conference naming one hundred hometowns of China’s famous and special products held in Beijing, Qingjian was honored as the only “Hometown of Chinese Jujubes.”

Currently, 400,000 mu of high-quality jujube bases have been established, with an annual output of 40 million kilograms. Leading enterprises such as Jul Ying Jujube Industry Group have been built, creating well-known brands such as "Jul Ying Brand" Dried Jujubes, which are sold in more than 50 large and medium-sized cities across the country and exported to Europe, America, and Southeast Asia.

The geographical indication product protection area for Qingjian Jujube covers the entire current administrative region of Qingjian County, Shaanxi Province.
