Guojia Bay Tribute Rice is a specialty from Guojia Bay Village, Yayu Township, Yuping County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. The rice produced in Guojia Bay Village boasts a fragrant taste, a jade-like luster, and rich nutrition. It was designated as tribute rice as early as the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, boasting a history of over 270 years, and is widely known as the “Hometown of Tribute Rice.”

Guojia Bay Tribute Rice is produced in Guojia Bay Village, Yayu, Yuping County. The village enjoys abundant sunshine, good ventilation, a favorable climate, and unique geological soil conditions, resulting in large, fragrant grains that produce rice with a distinctive and delicious flavor. During the Qing Dynasty, it was presented as tribute to the imperial court and highly praised by Emperor Qianlong, who bestowed upon it the title “Tribute Rice” and mandated its annual submission. As a result, Yayu Township also earned the reputation of being the “Hometown of Tribute Rice.” Guojia Bay Tribute Rice is very well-known in surrounding cities such as Tongren, Wanshan, as well as Huaihua, Zhijiang, and Xinhuang in Hunan, with many locals specifically seeking it out. Currently, it maintains strong market demand and is exported to nearby counties and cities in Hunan and Guizhou. In 2006, at the 2nd Fanjing Mountain Fragrant Rice Festival, Guojia Bay Tribute Rice won two first prizes in the “High-Quality Rice” category.
