Fried Spicy Cake
Fried Spicy Cake
Fried Spicy Cake is a distinctive delicacy of the Miao people in Taijiang, known for its savory, sour, and spicy flavor, with a crispy yet soft and sticky texture upon biting. To make Fried Spicy Cake, fermented chili peppers are mixed evenly with glutinous rice flour and regular rice flour, then stored in a jar and sealed. Once the mixture turns red and develops a sour-spicy taste, it's ready. Take an appropriate amount of the mixture, shape it into round patties, heat oil in a clean pan over low heat until the oil reaches about 30% temperature, place the patties in the pan and press them thin, then slowly pan-fry over low heat until both sides are golden brown. Remove from the pan, cut into pieces, and serve on a plate.
