Si Zhou Wandan pomelo is a specialty of Cengong County in Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. With over 20,000 acres of Wandan pomelo plantations, Cengong County has become the largest Wandan pomelo production base in Southwest China. The pomelos produced here are branded as “Si Zhou” Wandan pomelos.

Si Zhou Wandan pomelos are oval-shaped, weighing 2–3 kilograms each, with thin, smooth, pale yellow skin. The flesh is thick, crisp, juicy, and divided into segments, each containing 5–7 seeds. It has a rich flavor with a slight acidity. The fruit ripens in November and is rich in potassium, calcium, iron, selenium, zinc, as well as various trace elements including vitamin C and vitamin B, making it an excellent choice for fresh consumption or processing into beverages. Its greatest advantages over other pomelo varieties are its fragrant aroma when fresh, crisp texture, easily separable flesh that does not stick to the peel, absence of off-flavors, and good storage capability. In November 2004, Si Zhou Wandan pomelo was honored as a Guizhou Provincial Famous Agricultural Product. In December 2007, it won the Gold Award at the China International Forestry Industry Expo and was recognized as an Olympic Recommended Fruit. During production, it strictly follows non-polluting agricultural techniques, including bagging cultivation. In April 2008, it obtained the Non-polluting Agricultural Product certification and is gradually progressing toward becoming a green food and organic food product. Currently, the county has 12,800 acres of planted and fruit-bearing area, mainly distributed along the Longjiang River in low-altitude areas (below 550 meters) such as Siyang, Zhuxi, and Longtian in towns like Siyang, Zhuxi, and Longtian, with smaller plantings in Dayou and Kaiben.

The production area of Si Zhou Pomelo includes the following 12 administrative regions under the jurisdiction of Cengong County, Guizhou Province: Sixiang Town, Shuiwei Town, Tianma Town, Longtian Town, Kaiben Town, Dayou Town, Zhuxi Township, Tianxing Township, Yangqiao Tujia Ethnic Township, Pingzhuang Township, Kelou Township, and the Xinxing Development Zone.
