Hequ Zui Guo
Zui Guo, also known locally as "Haihong" or "Haitang," is a famous fruit from Hequ in Shanxi Province. The fruit contains a variety of vitamins, sugars, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, and more. With its sweet and tangy flavor, Haihong fruit has drawn attention from UNICEF due to its high phosphorus content, according to relevant authorities. It can also be used medicinally in place of hawthorn to treat ailments. Additionally, it can be processed into jams, fruit wines, fruit vinegars, and canned foods, offering great development potential. Locals in Hequ say, "Haihong and Haitang are great — they're money-spinning treasures." Guided by the philosophy that "to prosper in Hequ, take big steps in planting grass and trees," local residents are cultivating Haihong trees to leverage the advantages of mountainous terrain and achieve prosperity as quickly as possible.
