Hemsleya Root
Hemsleya Root is a traditional heat-clearing remedy commonly used by locals in Emeishan, Leshan, Sichuan. It is primarily cultivated in mountainous regions at altitudes of 1,400–2,300 meters, harvested in autumn. This herb is cold in nature, bitter in taste, and slightly toxic. It functions to clear heat and detoxify, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. It is used for treating bacillary dysentery, enteritis, bronchitis, acute tonsillitis, deficient fire toothache, and stomachache.
