Tiangang Silver Sprout is an innovative premium tea, classified as green tea. It was first created in 1990 and produced at Huotiangang Tea Farm in Tongjiang County. In 1990, it won the certificate and trophy for high-quality premium tea at the inaugural "Ganlu Cup" competition in Sichuan Province; in 1993, it participated in the Longma Exhibition in Thailand and was awarded a silver medal; in 1995, it participated in the China New Technologies and Products Trade Fair where it also won a silver medal, and in the same year, it received the Gold Award at the 2nd China Agricultural Fair hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture. Huotiangang is located in the southern section of the Qinba Mountain area — one of China’s three major selenium-rich belts — at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,500 meters. It currently has 150 hectares of tea gardens. Most of these gardens are well-established, contiguous, terraced plots with solid foundational cultivation. The tea gardens are meticulously managed, surrounded by lush forests, clear mountains and waters, fresh and clean air. They bask in the morning sun and are veiled in evening mist, with moist soil and spring-fed water — making it an ideal environment for producing premium tea.

The tea is made from tender one-bud-one-leaf or slightly expanded early spring buds, harvested during the Qingming (Tomb-Sweeping) and Guyu (Grain Rain) seasons. The production process includes withering → fixation → moisture removal → shaping → roasting → sorting and packaging. The finished tea is characterized by its flat, straight, uniform appearance with glossy color, covered in fine downy hairs, and boasts a rich and lasting fragrance. The infusion is clear and bright, with a mellow, fresh, and refreshing taste, and the leaves at the bottom are tender, even, and brightly colored in whole buds.
