　　Pengshui Perilla Oil is a specialty of Pengshui County in Chongqing Municipality. With an alpha-linolenic acid content as high as 65%, perilla (also known as su ma) seed oil is hailed as the best of its kind today, boasting a sesame-like aroma and pure flavor. Pengshui Perilla Oil has been awarded a National Geographical Indication Certification Trademark.

　　The cultivation and use of perilla (known locally as su ma) seeds and oil in Pengshui Miao-Tujia Autonomous County in Chongqing has a history of nearly two thousand years. The original strain has been well preserved, and the alpha-linolenic acid content in its perilla (su ma) seed oil reaches up to 65%, making it the best of its kind today, with a pure sesame-like aroma and flavor.

　　The raw material for Qianzhongdao Perilla Oil from Pengshui County—perilla seeds—comes from high-quality, food-and-medicine dual-use perilla plants grown in the Wuling Mountain Range. Using advanced equipment and technology, the oil is extracted through physical cold pressing and carefully refined to fully retain the plant's beneficial essence, especially the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid, which is not easily obtained from one’s diet and cannot be synthesized within the body. The oil is rich in alpha-linolenic acid and vitamin E, with levels reaching 66.8 grams and 42.9 milligrams respectively, and contains no cholesterol. Alpha-linolenic acid in perilla oil serves as a foundational building block for brain cells and optic nerve cells, offering 2–3 times more than deep-sea fish oil and 5–8 times more than walnut oil. Vitamin E provides antioxidant benefits and is one of the most convenient, affordable, abundant, and effective sources for supplementing alpha-linolenic acid and vitamin E.
