The Lianzhou Crystal Pear is a geographical indication agricultural product.

　　As the largest cultivation area for crystal pears in the province, Lianzhou has nearly 50,000 mu of crystal pear orchards, with 36,000 mu bearing fruit, an annual output of nearly 60,000 tons, and an annual output value of nearly 300 million yuan. Growing crystal pears has also become a way for local farmers to achieve prosperity.

　　In terms of the Lianzhou crystal pear itself, thanks to Lianzhou’s unique climate, Lianzhou crystal pears outshine other pear varieties in taste. The pears are well-shaped, large and round, with snow-white flesh that is crisp, sweet, and refreshing. They have a soluble solid content of 12% to 14%, with an average single fruit weight of over 200 grams, and are characterized by high sugar content and excellent taste.

　　Lianzhou crystal pears come in a rich variety of cultivars, including Shinseiki, Chuan Guan, Housui, Golden, Huanghua, Yuanhuang, and Large Fruit Crystal pears. Planting is concentrated in areas at elevations of 300 to 700 meters with relatively cold temperatures, such as Tanling in Xingzi Town, Shantang in Dalu Road Town, Kongwei in Longping Town, and Gaoshan in Xijiang Town. The reason Lianzhou crystal pears stand out in taste compared to ordinary pears is mainly due to Lianzhou’s unique terrain and climate. Taking Tanling in Lianzhou City as an example, this area is located in the northwest of Lianzhou, at an altitude of over 650 meters, with large diurnal temperature variations and soil that is mostly yellow sandy loam. Its unique geographical location and climatic advantages make Tanling the most suitable area for growing crystal pears in Lianzhou. Currently, the crystal pear planting area in this region exceeds 6,000 mu.

　　To further improve the quality of the crystal pears, Lianzhou has implemented bagging techniques. Unbagged fruits have yellow-green skins; bagged crystal pears have yellowish-white, smooth skins, milky-white flesh, thin skins, small seeds, tender and juicy pulp, sweet and refreshing taste with a honey-like flavor, and no noticeable stone cells. At the same time, their storability is greatly enhanced.
