"Liangfen" is a summer snack made from mung bean starch. The *Compendium of Materia Medica* states that mung bean liangfen "clears heat and detoxifies, treats boils, abscesses, burns, bruises, and neutralizes various toxins from heat, medicine, alcohol, and food." The exact dynasty or time period when liangfen originated remains unverified. But in the city of Changzhi, Shanxi Province, there is a legend about this snack.

It is said that 20 kilometers south of Zhangzi County in the Changzhi area lies the majestic and picturesque Cilin Mountain, standing at an elevation of 1,160 meters. The mountain is covered with lush pine and cypress trees, boasts pristine and dust-free surroundings, and features stunning green hills and beautiful scenery. On the mountain stands the renowned Fahsing Temple, famous throughout China, known for its uniquely styled architecture with upturned eaves and classic ancient design. The temple is home to over 20 monks who have sustained themselves on vegetarian diets for years. Cilin Mountain is considered a feng shui treasure land, with sweet-tasting grass and lush vegetation, and fertile soil that produces plump, brightly colored, and fragrant grains. Among them is a special type of mung bean known as "Zhugangqing mung bean," which tastes sweet, has a mild nature, and is non-toxic. It not only satisfies hunger and cravings but is also rich in nutrients, offering health-enhancing and longevity-promoting benefits.
