Yangcheng Fragrant Fruit
Fragrant fruit is a medicinal and aromatic tree species. It is a deciduous tree, about 20 meters tall. The leaves are brownish, and the branches are dense, tender, and flexible, capable of bending like a bow or coiling like a snake. It flowers in March, and the fragrant fruit ripens in September. The fruits are greenish-yellow in color, with small diameters of 3–5 cm and large ones of 8–10 cm. They have a slightly sour and astringent taste, fill the room with a pleasant fragrance, and can remain fresh for several months without spoiling. It is mainly distributed in Yangcheng County’s Chengguan and towns such as Dongye, Hebei, and Jialing, with over 170 trees producing approximately 5,000 jin of fruit per year. (Jincheng)
