Dongting Hairy Crabs

Dongting Hairy Crabs is a major aquaculture brand developed by Dongting Aquaculture after its listing, with investment in Anxiang. This year, 8,000 acres of specialized ponds and over 20,000 acres of open water areas have been developed for crab farming, with a total investment exceeding 20 million yuan. The cultivation of Dongting Hairy Crabs is a key scientific research project under the Ministry of Agriculture’s “Ninth Five-Year Plan.” In addition to the joint venture with Jiangsu Yancheng City’s Chinese Mitten Crab Farming Company last year, Dongting Aquaculture’s Shanbo Lake Fishery has this year established a seedling breeding base in Jiangsu and the largest soft-shell crab cultivation base in China’s inland provinces within the county. The product sells well in Southeast Asian countries as well as the Hong Kong and Macau markets, demonstrating considerable economic benefits and broad development prospects.
