Beishan Large Flat Apricot
Produced in Weichang, Hebei. The fruit ripens in early to mid-July. After harvesting, the flesh is removed, the hard shell is peeled off, and the apricot kernel is extracted. Following drying and sorting, it becomes the finished product. It has a heart-like shape, being flat and thin. The kernel is covered with a light yellowish-brown skin that has deep grooves. It has a crisp texture, sweet taste, and emits a fragrant aroma when chewed. It is intended solely for consumption and not suitable for medicinal use. This type of apricot kernel is rich in nutrients such as crude fat, protein, carbohydrates, and trace minerals. In addition to being used in pastry making, it can also be eaten roasted. Alternatively, it can be processed into almond powder, paste, frost, dew, tea, sugar, and canned products.
