Datian Strawberries are a geographical indication agricultural product.

　　The Datian Town government has consistently focused on the strawberry industry as a signature and income-generating sector, vigorously promoting pollution-free, standardized cultivation methods. As a result, over 20,000 acres of green, pollution-free strawberry production bases have been developed, and a variety of premium cultivars have been introduced. Among them, the “Damingxing” strawberry has been officially registered by the national industrial and commercial administration, certified as a “Green Food” by the National Green Food Center, and sold to more than 40 cities across the country. It is also exported in large quantities to countries such as Japan and South Korea after processing. At the same time, the town has actively guided the establishment of specialized cooperatives for strawberry processing and marketing to broaden sales channels. It has also attracted and established strawberry processing enterprises to drive industrial optimization and upgrading. More than 10 strawberry fruit wholesale markets have been built, direct supply and sales relationships have been established with merchants from major cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao, and Yantai, and over 10 million yuan in foreign investment has been introduced to build the Yongchang Strawberry Processing Factory. This has created an integrated production–supply–sales chain and a new industrial model of “base + farmer + company,” which has driven the development of the strawberry industry throughout the town and generated significant economic benefits. The strawberry industry alone has increased the per capita income of farmers in the town by over 5,000 yuan.

　　Geographical Scope

　　Datian Strawberries are produced in Junan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, located in the southeastern part of Shandong. The region stretches 56 kilometers from east to west and 43 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 1,388 square kilometers. The protected geographical area for “Datian Strawberries” is within Junan County, Shandong Province, extending east to Shizilu Subdistrict Office, west to Tingshui Town, south to Lingquan Town, and north to Datian Town, encompassing seven townships. The geographical coordinates are between 118°33′–119°11′ east longitude and 35°06′–35°24′ north latitude, at elevations ranging from 60 to 200 meters.

　　1. External Sensory Features: Datian strawberries have uniform shape and color, are large in size with an average weight of about 22 grams per fruit, and can reach over 50 grams. They are conical or spindle-shaped, with strong resilience, juicy and delicious flesh, no off-flavors, and a distinctive aroma unique to the variety. 2. Internal Quality Indicators: Datian strawberries are fresh, juicy, fragrant, sweet and sour with a unique flavor, and are highly nutritious—qualities that have made them very popular among consumers. These characteristics are inseparable from their unique internal nutritional composition. Each 100g of fresh berries contains approximately 4.5–5.0% sugar, 0.3–0.4% organic acid, 7.5–8.5% soluble solids, as well as pectin, protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and other minerals. Therefore, Datian strawberries are an ideal health food. 3. Safety Requirements: Datian strawberries must meet the hygiene standards for “Pollution-Free Food – Strawberries” set by the Ministry of Agriculture. Those falling under the circumstances outlined in Article 33 of the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Law shall not be marketed.
