Great Wall Dry White Wine
As the saying goes, "Good wine needs no bush." In 1977, our province's Great Wall brand Dry White Wine made its debut and quickly gained international recognition for its excellent color, aroma, and taste, earning widespread praise from wine experts and consumers alike. At the Third National Wine Appraisal Conference in China, it was honored as a national premium-quality famous wine and won a gold medal awarded by the State Council. In October 1983, at the 14th International Wine Appraisal Conference held in London, UK, it was further awarded an international silver medal, which was presented to the Great Wall Winery by the organizing body, the International Wine Club, through our embassy in the UK. This marked the first time a Chinese-produced wine had received an international award. The Great Wall brand Dry White Wine is a unique new variety among our province’s exported alcoholic beverages, brewed by the Great Wall Winery of our province.
The Great Wall Winery is located in Shacheng, an ancient city beyond the Great Wall at the foot of the legendary structure. This area has been renowned for its grape production both inside and outside the Great Wall since ancient times. The local Longyan grapes are large, thin-skinned, juicy, and have a deep purple-red, translucent color, delicious flavor, sugar content as high as 20 degrees, and are rich in various vitamins. The Great Wall Dry White Wine is made from these high-quality fresh Longyan grapes. The grapes are crushed and pressed to extract pure grape juice, which is then sealed and fermented to produce the wine. With an alcohol content of 12%, the wine has a pale yellow hue with a slight greenish tint, a soft texture, a fragrant taste, well-balanced sweetness and acidity, and a strong original fruit flavor that endures over time.
Dry white wine offers high nutritional and medicinal value. Because it is brewed from pure fruit juice through sealed fermentation, it fully releases the beneficial substances naturally found in Longyan grapes. It helps stimulate appetite and invigorate the body, making it an excellent pairing for banquets, dinner parties, and casual family meals.
