tobacco plant in 1975 at Lidong Brigade, Lishan Commune, and reserved its seeds for breeding.

The Lishan Hundred-Leaves Yellow plant typically grows to around 3 meters tall, with closely spaced internodes. Retaining 65–70 nodes, it can produce over 100 leaves, with mid-stem leaves reaching 50 cm in length. On average, 140 leaves weigh about 1 jin (500 g).

Each mu (0.067 hectares) yields approximately 500 kg of yellow tobacco, about 250 kg more per mu than ordinary varieties. It also cures well, with top-grade leaves accounting for around 25%, delivering high economic returns.

This variety is similar to Qiaozhuang Multi-Leaf, but overcomes the latter’s shortcomings—it does not suffer from bottom scorching, is drought-resistant and disease-resistant, has a field growth cycle of 150 days, and is suitable for intercropping with green tobacco.

The variety was named “Lishan Hundred-Leaves Yellow” after relevant departments and experts confirmed its ability to grow 100 leaves. In 1978, it won the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements in Jining Region.

Currently, it is widely planted across southern and southwestern Shandong.
