Mount Lu’s “Three Stones”
Namely, Mount Lu’s stone ear fungus, stone fish, and stone chicken. The stone ear is a wild fungus that grows attached to steep cliffs. Its flat shape resembles a human ear, hence the name “stone ear.” When cooked as a side dish, it is smooth, crisp, delicious, fragrant, and highly nutritious. The stone fish is a prized aquatic delicacy that lives in mountain streams and pools formed by waterfalls, hence the name “stone fish.” The stone chicken is not actually a chicken but a type of spiny frog. It is named for its tender, plump meat that resembles chicken.
