　　【Main Production Areas and Distribution】 The central production area is located in Xiangdong Township, Shifang Town, Yian Town, Wudong Township, Zhongbao Town, Chengxiang Township, and other regions of Wuping County, with distribution also found in the neighboring Shanghang County, as well as Jiaoling County and Meizhou City in Guangdong Province.

　　【Skin Color】 Yellow

　　【Comb Color】 Single upright comb, with the rear 0 part of the comb forked (the front has 4–6 comb points, the rear splits into 2–3 forks), the base of the comb is relatively thick and red in color.

　　【Body Characteristics】 The body is round and plump.

　　【Other Characteristics】 The beak is yellow. There are radial whiskers under the jaw, with no or barely visible wattles. The shanks are yellow.

　　【Breed Advantages and Disadvantages】 It has advantages such as strong adaptability, high disease resistance, ability to thrive on coarse feed, thin skin, fine bones, and tender, delicious meat, making it a premium “delicacy-type” meat chicken. However, Xiangdong Chickens mature sexually late, lay few eggs, and in recent years, the introduction of non-native chicken breeds has led to hybridization and degeneration of the Xiangdong Chicken breed.
