Huoshan Moso Bamboo

　　Huoshan boasts abundant natural resources and has long been known as "a land of gold, medicinal herbs, and famous teas, a county of bamboo seas, mulberry fields, and hydropower."

Huoshan is the hometown of moso bamboo. With up to 20 varieties from 6 genera, the total bamboo forest area covers 240,000 mu, with a standing volume of 40 million poles. It is the largest moso bamboo-producing county north of the Yangtze River. The "Ten-Thousand-Mu Bamboo Sea" in Taoyuanhe was awarded the title of "China's Hometown of Moso Bamboo" by the Ministry of Forestry. Huoshan moso bamboo features long internodes, tough texture, thick walls, long and dense fibers, minimal tapering along the entire pole, and large diameters, making it a high-quality variety. In the 1970s, the "Bamboo King" exhibited in Hefei measured an impressive 18 cm in diameter.
