　　　　She Inkstone, also known as Longwei Inkstone, is carved from She stone sourced from Longwei Mountain in Wuyuan (now Wuyuan, Jiangxi), Shezhou. Among the many varieties of She Inkstones, Luowen Inkstone is the easiest to release ink and most suitable for brush tips. Among Luowen Inkstones, those with fine textures such as ancient rhinoceros luowen, fish roe luowen, and dark fine luowen are considered the best. Due to its diverse stone patterns, She Inkstone has many elegant names, such as Golden Star Inkstone, where golden-yellow dots are scattered across the black stone surface, resembling stars in the night sky; Luowen Inkstone, with fine blue-black lines resembling woven patterns—some as delicate as coiled hair, others as bold as rolled ribbons, with rippling dynamism that mimics the shape of flat or round pebbles; Eyebrow Inkstone, with moth eyebrows and willow-leaf shapes resembling different styles of eyebrows, some long, some short, some even appearing in pairs, just like twin brows on a face. Additionally, there are Fish Roe Pattern, Melon Seed Pattern, Date Seed Pattern, Checkerboard Pattern, Pine Pattern, Bean Spot Pattern, and Horn Wave Pattern, among others. Master carvers typically craft inkstones based on the material, allowing the natural patterns to showcase their simple and unadorned beauty, achieving a harmonious blend of craftsmanship and nature that enhances each other’s charm.

　　　　Although Luowen Rest Inkstone is highly practical, it is not the most famous. The most renowned She Inkstone is the Golden Star Inkstone. Since the mining of She stone began in the Tang Dynasty, the Golden Star Inkstone has consistently held the top reputation and is widely regarded as the representative of She Inkstones. It is hard, durable, and wear-resistant, becoming shinier the more it is used. It is also easy to clean, retaining its brightness like new, making it a premium-quality inkstone.
