　　Golden Bud is currently the only yellow-mutated new tea variety in China. It has been included in the National Science and Technology Support Program. This tea variety has been introduced to the Rare and Famous Tea Germplasm Resource Garden at the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Because Golden Bud remains yellow all year round—its dry leaves are bright yellow, the infusion is golden-yellow, and the taste is delicious—it is named for its preciousness akin to gold.
