Chengling Black Pigs are a specialty of Taihu County, Anqing City, Anhui Province. The Chengling Mountain Black Pig, also known as the Anqing Six-White Pig, was originally called the Taihu Six-White Pig and is commonly referred to as the "Six-Flower Pig."

The Chengling Mountain Black Pig is a nationally protected rare livestock breed. As an inherently noble pig breed, it is characterized by "six flowers and seven stars," meaning it has white markings on the forehead, tail, and four limbs, and seven black spots in the shape of the Big Dipper on its front hooves. It features strong resistance to coarse feed, adversity, and disease, and its meat is considered the finest among pork varieties—"delicious even without MSG."

The breeding base for Chengling Mountain Black Pigs is located at an altitude of over 700 meters in the high mountains of Chengling, far from pollution sources, with fresh air, large diurnal temperature variations, and a suitable climate—especially in summer, when temperatures are 3–5°C lower than those at lower altitudes—making it a rare natural oxygen bar that is particularly well-suited for pig farming. The feed used for Chengling Mountain Black Pigs is primarily composed of green grass and coarse grains, with no hormone additives. Each day, the pigs are fed a mixture of locally grown organic corn, soybeans, rice bran, and other ingredients that have been fermented. The breeding cycle lasts 11 months.

The Chengling Mountain Black Pig prioritizes quality over high yield, catering to the pigs’ natural living habits. They sleep on "Simmons" beds, listen to soft music, can play and root around, and live in pens that are warm in winter and cool in summer, providing them with the best welfare so they can grow happily. By combining modern fermentation bed technology with a unique ecological environment, the pens remain free of flies, insects, and ammonia odors, effectively preventing outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease and respiratory illnesses. This results in the production of high-quality pork that is antibiotic-free, residue-free, and eligible for organic meat certification. The water content standard for the pork is 77%. The quality of the water supply is the most critical factor determining the quality of the pork. The Chengling Mountain Black Pig base uses clean, pollution-free, natural mountain spring water that is safe for direct human and animal consumption and rich in minerals, flowing year-round.
