Datong Ginger
Datong Ginger is produced in areas such as Xinjian and Dongdian, with the best quality coming from Shejia Courtyard and Jinhua Village. Having once been an imperial tribute, most of it was sold in Datong or distributed via Datong to cities along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, such as Wuhan and Shanghai. Hence, it is commonly known as “Datong Ginger.” Datong Ginger is characterized by its large size, thin skin, juicy texture, minimal fibers, tender flesh, and strong aroma. Since becoming an “imperial tribute ginger” during the Song Dynasty, it has enjoyed nationwide fame.
