Genhe Hunters' Settlement

The Genhe Hunters' Settlement is the campsite where the Aoluguya Ewenki, China’s last hunting tribe, raise reindeer. It features reindeer and the Ewenki’s traditional dwellings known as "chum" (teepees), which are formed by one or several Ewenki hunter families. Visitors who come here between May and July can see reindeer and witness the process of antler harvesting, chat with the hunters, taste reindeer milk and the traditional "kyleba" (rye bread), learn about the customs of the Ewenki hunters, and experience their production and lifestyle.
