Genhe Wooden House Resort is located about 3.5 kilometers from the city center. To its north lies the "Yuquan Forest Ecotourism Resort," and to the east is the "Genhe Wildlife, Plants, Insects, and Butterfly Specimen Museum." The resort covers an area of over 20 hectares, with a built-up area of more than 1,400 square meters. It features rural courtyards, a conference center, European-style villas, the Birch Restaurant, the Ancient Tree Restaurant, romantic cottages, a cable-stayed bridge, the Genhe City Summer Camp Site, observation decks, a forest steam train, and various other scenic facilities — totaling 46 in all — which can accommodate up to 200 people for dining and lodging simultaneously. It is currently the earliest developed, largest in architectural scale, best-equipped, and most capable tourist resort in the Genhe area. It is a comprehensive destination integrating conferences, banquets, leisure, entertainment, and sightseeing.

Within the Wooden House Resort, located 3.5 kilometers from the city center, flows a crystal-clear stream known locally as the Longquan River.

Legend has it that in ancient times, the ninth son of the Dragon King of the North Sea sneaked out of the palace. When he arrived in the Greater Khingan Mountains, he was captivated by the verdant mountains, beautiful waters, and lush surroundings. The clear, winding river flowed gently between the green pines and birches. Finding the place incredibly beautiful, he lingered here, picking flowers and enjoying the scenery. Unaware of the passage of time and feeling weary, he eventually lay down in the river to rest and fell asleep. A day in heaven is a year on earth — he slept for nearly half a year. By the time he woke up, the water level had receded significantly due to the drought, preventing him from returning to the dragon palace. The scorching sun burned his scales, and he was on the verge of death when an Ewenki hunter happened to pass by. Seeing his condition, the hunter used his hunting knife to divert mountain spring water into the river, pouring the cool spring over the dragon’s body. Thanks to the influx of spring water, the river gradually filled up again. The ninth prince revived with the water and was able to fly back to the dragon palace. Deeply grateful for the hunter’s life-saving kindness, he returned every year to bring rain and winds, ensuring favorable weather and abundant harvests. Over time, this created a jade-like river, hence named the Longquan River. This river is tranquil, deep, emerald-green, and crystal-clear. Though it appears still, the water is constantly flowing. It never dries up in drought, never overflows in flood, remains unfrozen in winter, and flows year-round.
