Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe Scenic Area in Genhe City

The Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Ewenki Reindeer Tribe is China’s last hunting tribe, living off herding reindeer. Reindeer are medium-sized deer native to the Arctic Circle and not fully domesticated. The Ewenki people have developed methods to adapt reindeer to the climate, food, temperature, and humidity of the Greater Khingan Mountains, allowing them to survive far from the Arctic tundra.

The Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe Scenic Area is located in Aoluguya Township, Genhe City, Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, on the northwestern foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains, just 3 kilometers from the city center with very convenient transportation. The scenic area includes the Aoluguya Ewenki Reindeer Culture Museum, birch bark handicraft workshops, the Ewenki Hunters' Village, six hunter reindeer herding sites, the Gu Gejun Primitive Tribe, the Lie Xiang Yuan Chuo Luozi Restaurant, and the A Mu Na Ao Township Club.

In the Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe, become a hunter of the Ewenki Reindeer Tribe, ride a reindeer canoe through the forest, enjoy venison tea in a cozy chuo luo (traditional tent), join a bonfire party, watch song and dance performances—let go of all thoughts and questions, and simply be a free and natural person once again.
