Mengxiang Hetao Farmstead
Situated beside National Highway 110 at the Seed Station of the Experimental Farm in Linhe District, Bayannur City, Mengxiang Hetao Farmstead spans 9 mu and is divided into six planned zones.
Dining and Accommodation Zone: Staffed by 30 employees. The dining area covers approximately 600 square meters and includes a paved parking lot. It offers 11 standard guest rooms that are fully equipped, cozy, and quiet.
Picking Zone: The farmstead grows a variety of fruits and vegetables such as cucumbers, green beans, eggplants, chili peppers, tomatoes, apricots, and apples. These are available for visitors to pick and experience. Eight staff members are assigned to this zone.
Breeding Zone: The farmstead has facilities for breeding Tibetan mastiffs, pigs, sheep, and chickens, as well as specialty animals including swan geese, rabbits, and homing pigeons. Eight employees work in this zone.
Fishing Zone: The farmstead has water areas suitable for aquaculture and offers fishing services to visitors. Six staff members are responsible for this zone.
Hetao Farming Experience Zone: Equipped with stone mills, grindstones, old-style winnowing machines, both new and old farming tools, and also featuring a production workshop where handmade foods such as steamed buns, tofu, and bean sprouts are produced. This zone provides hands-on experiences for visitors. Three employees are stationed here.
Hetao Culture Exhibition Zone: Professional ErrenTai performers are hired to present local ErrenTai performances. Every day, there are yangko dance performances, and the outer walls of the farmstead display historical relics such as rock paintings from the Hetao region, as well as local tourist attractions. Fifteen employees work in this zone.
Since its opening, Mengxiang Hetao Farmstead has created job opportunities for over 60 local farmers and herders, significantly increasing their household incomes.

Here, you can enjoy the rich charm of rural life and savor authentic farmhouse flavors. The farmstead courtyard is full of vitality — blue-tiled houses, red couplets, paper-cut window decorations, and the air filled with mouthwatering aromas. Look, the hot stewed lamb from the back mountains and braised roosters are just out of the pot, instantly livening up the courtyard. Middle-aged women in their forties and fifties start dancing yangko, while the ErrenTai performance troupe of Hetao Farmstead begins their show. Witnessing this scene brings smiles to everyone’s faces.
“Hetao Farmstead” is not just a unique attraction in our Linhe area, but also a pioneer of green ecological dining. Behind homes like the Village Chief’s, San Housheng’s, Si Meimei’s, Wu Qiaoqiao’s, Liu Shunshun’s, Maosheng Ge’s, Changliuzhu’s… you’ll find free-range chickens and penned sheep for you to choose from. Pick whichever one you like, and it will be slaughtered and served on the spot. In summer, the green vegetables grown in the courtyard — eggplants, chili peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes — ensure you eat with peace of mind and delight in the view.
Mengxiang Catering’s Hetao Farmstead consists of 15 family-style units. Whenever customers dine here, the warm-hearted staff will exclaim, “Our family has relatives visiting!” Then, they’ll point to the charming, rustic menu painted on the wall to take your order. Dishes include farmhouse soybean sprouts, homemade pork jelly, deep-fried cured pork, chef-made cold rice noodles, Hetao’s famous Four Hard Dishes, pork stewed with sour cabbage, and countless other farmhouse specialties that will whet your appetite. All dishes are cooked using pure flaxseed oil and traditional farmhouse techniques. In this beautiful, service-oriented paradise, you can also try braised noodles, millet sour rice, potstickers, Hetao wheat gluten, pickled vegetables, and sour cucumbers. Once you visit, you’ll find yourself longing to return again and again, no matter how far the journey.
