Shading Lake

Shading Lake (Aorui Naoer) is located 12 kilometers southwest of Narenbaolige Sumu in Urad Rear Banner and 60 kilometers from Saiwusu Town. The lake is surrounded by open sand dunes and situated at a relatively high elevation, hence the name "Shading Lake" (literally "Sand-Top Lake"). The water is crystal clear, neither drying up nor swelling, covering an area of about 15 acres with a depth of 1 to 2 meters. Water birds are often seen swimming in the lake, making it a great destination for summer tourism, sightseeing, sunbathing, and sand bathing—ideal activities for fitness and leisure. It is hailed as the "Ancient Mirror of the Desert."
