Erlangshan Reservoir

Erlangshan Reservoir is located 115 kilometers southwest of Hailaritu in Urad Middle Banner, Inner Mongolia. It was built for farmland water storage, irrigation, and flood control.

Erlangshan Reservoir has a catchment area of 961 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 33 million cubic meters. It is surrounded by mountains on the east, south, and west sides, with vast grasslands to the north. The reservoir dam is a reinforced concrete arch dam, 41 meters high, 173 meters long, and 3–4.7 meters wide at the top. A suspension bridge stretches across the top of the dam, and walking across it offers a panoramic view of the reservoir, creating a refreshing and uplifting experience. Here, you can admire the majestic Erlang Mountain and explore the historic ruins of the ancient Great Wall. The area is perfect for sightseeing, swimming, boating, and fishing. With beautiful scenery to enjoy and no mosquitoes to bother you, it's an ideal summer retreat.
