Hidden Lake

The lake located west of the teaching buildings at Sun Yat-sen University is called Hidden Lake. The name is truly fitting—just the single word "隐" (hidden) is enough to stir the imagination. Though I haven’t been there, just imagining its expanse of greenish-blue water, the shimmering ripples catching the sunlight, the floating lotuses that evoke the charm of the Jiangnan region, the grand tree that creates a world of its own, and that uniquely charming little island that seems forever out of reach is enough to captivate the heart and stir the soul.
