Haizhu Lake Park is located in the southern section of the new urban central axis of Haizhu District, Guangzhou — on the same line as the Zhujiang New Town CBD. The park covers an area of 2,248.3 mu, including a central lake area of 1,422.6 mu (with a water surface of 795 mu and land area of 627.6 mu), and green space and supporting facilities spanning 825.7 mu.

Haizhu Lake is the first large-scale water conservancy and ecological project in Haizhu District, integrating flood control, water storage, sewage treatment, and ecological environment enhancement. It forms a “one lake, six streams” water network pattern together with six waterways: Shiliugang River, Dawei Yong, Datang Yong, Shangchong Yong, Yangwan Yong, and Xilu Yong.

Haizhu Lake Park consists of an inner lake and an outer lake. On the southern shore of Haizhu Lake, on clear days, you can clearly see the Canton Tower, the West Tower, and the East Tower, creating a picturesque view known as “one lake, three towers.”

The central lake area of the park spans 1,422.6 mu, with a water surface of 795 mu, and is made up of an inner lake and an outer lake. The outer lake is actually a “jade ring” formed by the connection of six waterways, encircling the circular inner lake — a very beautiful sight. As a result, Haizhu Lake is vividly likened to “gold inlaid with jade.”

Haizhu Lake Park is quite large; it takes about two hours to walk around the entire perimeter. However, the park has long opening hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., so if you take your time walking around, you can enjoy many beautiful landscapes. It’s truly a great place for locals to go jogging, relax, unwind, or go on outings on weekends, and it’s also suitable for bringing children and the elderly.

Haizhu Lake was opened to the public for free on October 1, 2011, becoming a great choice for citizens to relax, experience wetlands, and get close to nature.
