Mencius Mountain Scenic Area

Mencius Mountain Scenic Area is located in Baishi Town and features major attractions such as Ziyun Cave, hot springs, Yuwang Cave Tiankeng, Xu Xian Bridge, Green Snake Cave, White Snake Cave, Wanli Ancient Stockade, a thousand-year-old camphor tree, and ancient red apricot firs.

Among them, the Ziyun Cave Hot Springs in Wenshui Village, Baishi Town, have crystal-clear waters with a year-round temperature of around 30°C. Rich in various antibacterial mineral elements, bathing in the hot springs can help prevent and treat a variety of skin diseases and promote overall health.

Yuwang Cave is located by the Bacao Highway in Futou Village, Baishi Town. It is named after the legendary site of Yu the Great's flood control efforts in ancient times. The cave is divided into left and right sections, with the left cave slightly higher in elevation than the right, connected by a central Tiankeng (natural pit). The left cave's underground river flows through the Tiankeng, forming a waterfall that pours into the right cave, which then leads to the Luofu River outside the mountain, making it one of the sources of the You River. The entrance of the left cave is tall and wide, spanning over ten meters, with a depth of 10 kilometers, interconnected via an underground river to Haitang Cave in Caobo. Approximately 20 meters inside the cave, there is a water barrier built by local villagers for water diversion and power generation. The area behind the barrier holds year-round accumulated water deep enough for boating. The right cave is over 20 meters in both height and width, about 300 meters long, and features a continuous flow of water throughout the year. The Tiankeng is around 30 meters deep, covering an area of nearly 3,000 square meters. The pit is surrounded by towering ancient trees, with birds flying low, while the cliffs are lined with peculiar vines. A mysterious “eerie mist” hovers around the cave entrance, giving it a spooky atmosphere that deters solo adventurers.
