Tongzhongzhai is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Situated in Bayi Village, Shen Suo Town, Shixing County. Tongzhongzhai integrates Danxia landforms and karst cave formations. The area is characterized by steep and majestic peaks, forming an ecological leisure tourism destination grounded in unique natural landscapes, red history education, and notable for sexology studies. Attractions include the naturally formed, perfect, grand, and mystical “Gate of Life”—the Great Fairy’s Yin Yuan Cave—as well as a cluster of smaller but equally vivid Seven Fairies’ Yin Yuan Caves of varying sizes. There is also the dreamy and ethereal Nine Phoenix Waterfall, and just 3 kilometers from the scenic area lies the majestic Yang Yuan Stone.

The most miraculous sight within Tongzhongzhai Scenic Area is the Gate of Life—a cluster of naturally-formed Yin Yuan Caves resulting from the Danxia landform structure. Currently, seven such caves of various sizes have been discovered. Some appear as buds about to bloom, others with lips slightly parted, and some with lips tightly closed. The largest stands over 30 meters tall, while the smallest is just a few meters high. Each one has a unique posture and a remarkably lifelike shape. Additionally, there is an 80-meter-high rock formation resembling a female anatomical profile. It is said that these are traces left by the Seven Fairies during their time enchanted with the mortal realm, and thus the scenic area is hailed by tourism professionals as a natural “sexology” museum.

Equally fascinating is the A Gong Rock located about 2 kilometers southwest of the scenic area, where a roughly 60-meter-high rock formation resembling a “male organ,” known as Dongbin Yang Yuan Stone, forms a yin-yang harmony with the Yin Yuan Caves. Moreover, Tongzhongzhai Scenic Area also features attractions such as the Army Hiding Cave, the Tortoise and Rabbit Race, the Nine Phoenix Waterfall, and the Niwei Village Cliff Coffins and ancient tombs—each captivating visitors with their wonder.

Adult ticket: 40 RMB. Children under 1.2 meters are admitted free. Seniors aged 70 and above can enter free of charge with valid ID. Military personnel are admitted free upon presenting credentials.
