Shendushui Eco-Area

Shendushui Eco-Area is located in the ecological Yao village of Shendushui, around 20 kilometers south of the county town, covering an area of over a hundred square kilometers in regions such as Huokeng, Jiangjundong, and Huangshipeng. Along the way, you’ll find azure mountains and blue waters, vibrant red maples and emerald bamboos, creating enchanting scenery. The area features dense forests and sparse population, with more than ten peaks over 1,000 meters above sea level, including Jiangjundong, Jigong Mountain, Five-Finger Mountain, Xiaotianlong, Huangchaodianbing, and others, along with the uniquely shaped “WenHao Peak” that resembles the head of famed literary giant Lu Xun, the remarkably realistic standalone stone “Guanyin Sitting on a Lotus,” and a series of nine-tiered waterfalls. It is a natural ecological landscape integrating unusual peaks and rocks, deep gorges with cascading falls, ancient trees, and rich species diversity. The area still maintains its pristine, unexploited primitive forest, filled with negatively ion-rich air that is refreshingly pure—an ideal spot for modern city folk to seek out hidden scenic wonders, embark on adventures, escape noise and crowds, return to nature, and listen to the music of ancient woods. In 2012, the eco-area added a 1.2-km-long Cherry Blossom Valley corridor, planting over 2,500 cherry blossom trees, 1,249 ginkgo trees, and various other ornamental plants, creating a top-tier garden in the mountainous north of Guangdong.

Shendushui Township: Shendushui Yao Ethnic Township is located at 114°44′12″ east longitude and 24°50′03″ north latitude, covering a total area of 147 square kilometers. It borders Qujiang and Shensuo Towns to the west, connects with Dundang to the north, extends to Liuzhangjia Mountain Forest Farm to the east, and neighbors Siqian and Aizi to the south. The terrain is higher in the south and lower in the north, with the crystal-clear Qinghua River flowing from south to north through the township. Most natural villages are situated along both sides of the river. A market town called Xianningge was built near the river, with all travelers required to cross a ferry. With the river being several zhang deep at the crossing, it came to be known as Shendushui (Deep Ferry Water).
