Dan Yuan People's Hall

Dan Yuan People's Hall is located next to the village committee of Dan Yuan Village, Chengnan Town, Shixing County, Shaoguan City. Construction began in 1975, and it was completed during the Spring Festival of 1976. The building faces southeast and is situated northwest, measuring 15.4 meters wide, 46.9 meters deep, and about 12 meters high. It is constructed from brick and wood, featuring square brick pillars, a king post truss roof covered with green tiles, and walls made of adobe bricks. The front section’s second floor is made of concrete, inscribed with “Dan Yuan People's Hall.” The upper couplet reads “The Four Seas Rejoice as Clouds and Waters Rage,” while the lower couplet reads “The Five Continents Tremble as Winds and Thunder Roar.” Performances held here were mainly by city and county theater troupes as well as nearby amateur drama groups, often featuring tea-picking operas and model operas. Locals from nearby villages came to watch, reflecting the area’s cultural activities and exchanges.
