Zhubao Songmao Wai is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

Located in Zhousuo Village, Dun'gang Town. The entire enclosed building is constructed from blue bricks, tiles, and wood. The wai faces southwest and is situated to the northeast, measuring 25.8 meters in width and 17 meters in depth, with four stories (five stories at the corners), and is about 13 meters high. The surrounding wall is 3.5 meters high. The top level of the wai has slightly taller corner towers resembling battlements. The surrounding wall is solid and sturdy, with the outer wall being 1 meter thick. The outer walls of the upper levels are one meter wide. It features a “回” (hui, meaning return) shaped corridor, with wooden stairs inside leading to the upper floors. The inner courtyard has railings (corridors) only on the second and fourth levels. The floorboards are covered with thin blue bricks. The lintel is inscribed with the characters “Zhubao Songmao” and bears a carved date from the third year of the Xianfeng reign (1853), in the early winter. The wai is surrounded by beautiful farmland scenery that captivates visitors. It was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site in November 2010.

Zhubao Songmao Wai is situated in the fields north of Guangling, on flat terrain with fertile soil. It has a subtropical monsoon climate, which is warm, humid, sunny, and receives abundant rainfall — about 1,600 mm annually. The Qinghua River flows to the southwest, and the Luoba River to the southeast. Mineral resources include coal. Vegetation includes pine, fir, and other forest trees. To the east lies S244 Highway, to the south 1.5 km is Zhousuo Village, to the west 1.5 km is Zongcun, and to the north 1 km is the town government. The villagers are surnamed Zhang, with 45 households and about 200 people. The houses are located in the fields on the left bank of the Qinghua River, mostly single-story buildings made of blue bricks, tiles, and wood. They are distributed in blocks, with neat structures and straight eaves. The villagers primarily engage in farming, cultivating crops such as rice, peanuts, and mulberry.
