The Liao House Walled Building in Luoba

The Liao House Walled Building is located in Tianxin Village, Luoba Town. This walled building faces southeast and is situated to the northwest. There are two walled buildings: one was built during the Qing Dynasty, measuring 21.65 meters in width, 27.6 meters in depth, with surrounding walls that are 3.5 meters high and 1 meter thick. The interior structure has long been destroyed, leaving only the four remaining walls. The other was rebuilt by villagers in the Republican era on the original site of the old walled building. It measures 9.6 meters in width, 10.3 meters in depth, and is three stories high at 8.6 meters. Constructed with brick, stone, tiles, and wood, it features vertical rectangular and square windows. The top floor has overhanging eaves on all four sides, with the upper right corner of the front and the upper left corner of the back slightly protruding in a fan shape. The surrounding walls are sturdy and solid, with the outer walls of the ground floor being 0.73 meters thick. It holds certain reference value for the study of residential architecture. This walled building was successfully adopted by Mr. Yin Fulong on August 3, 2012. It has now been fully renovated and officially put into use.

The Liao House Walled Building is situated on the right bank of the Liu-Zhang Mountain Stream at the foot of Wubeiling Mountain. The land is flat and fertile. It has a subtropical monsoon climate, with abundant sunshine and rainfall, and an annual precipitation of 1,500 millimeters. Mineral resources include tungsten ore, and plant resources consist of trees such as pine and fir.

To the east is the town government, 4 kilometers away; to the south is the Liu-Zhang Mountain Stream, 1 kilometer away; to the west is Mazishi Village, 1 kilometer away; and to the north it backs onto Wubeiling Mountain. The villagers are surnamed Liao, with 32 households and about 140 people. The village dwellings are clustered on the flat land at the foot of the mountain, mostly consisting of single-story houses built with mud bricks, tiles, and wood, arranged in a long strip.
