Hongli Aqueduct

The Hongli Aqueduct is a cultural heritage site protected at the Guangdong Provincial level.

The Hongli Aqueduct is located near Tanglipitang Village in Hongli Village Committee, Mashizhen, Shixing County, Shaoguan City. It is an irrigation facility associated with the western main canal of the Jianbei Reservoir. Construction began in 1979, and it was completed and put into use in 1981.

The aqueduct is 1,000 meters long, 1.85 meters wide, with a maximum span of 63.2 meters and a maximum height of 22.2 meters. It is built from reinforced concrete and features both beam and arch structures. It irrigates over 300 hectares of farmland in villages such as Anshui, Gaoshui, and Mashizhen. As the largest water-diverting aqueduct in Shixing County, it continues to supply precious water to local croplands today, ensuring stable and high agricultural yields.

In 2012, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Heritage Sites by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province.
