Chongyi Hall is located to the east of Shangdeng Natural Village, Yaocun, Taiping Town, Shixing County. It was built in the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931) by Deng Chunjie and Deng Chunzhou. The structure lies in the heart of the Mojiang Basin, on the northern bank of the Mojiang River, and is backed by the southern foothills of Nanshe Mountain. Surrounded by lush greenery, it faces southeast and is oriented from northwest to southeast. The overall layout is rectangular, forming a square-shaped enclosure with a main hall, residential buildings, enclosing walls, and a perimeter wall, featuring an arched gate in the northeast corner. It measures 39.6 meters in width and 27.1 meters in depth, covering a total area of 1,073.16 square meters. The front is a two-slope hanging roof structure built with red sandstone frames, with a central door featuring two round windows that leads to the ancestral hall. On both sides of the courtyard stand two white round pillars, topped with half-open lotus decorations. The hall is 7.1 meters high, with Roman columns, scrolled cloud braces, and cement reliefs of flowers, birds, and mountains. Square doors connect to the hard-roofed residential halls with two-slope roofs. Stone-paved pathways lead to two smaller enclosures. The enclosures stand prominently to the north and south, aligned with the main building, rectangular in shape like twin watchtowers, four stories high, with a height of 12.88 meters, a width of 4.49 meters, a depth of 4.86 meters, and a floor area of 21.82 square meters. They feature overlapping eaves with egg-patterned textures, steep phoenix ridge roofs, and blue brick-built battlements, exuding a commanding presence. The doors are framed with red sandstone. There are vertical rectangular, square, and round windows. Stairs provide access to upper levels. The perimeter wall is 0.3 meters thick and 6 meters high, constructed entirely of pebble walls with blue brick corners, and features a tile-and-wood structure. The entire complex blends Chinese and Western architectural elements, and is structurally robust.
