Qigan Desert Tourist Area

The Qigan Desert Tourist Area is situated in Chaogewendusu Banner, Bagatai, Wengqi, about 120 kilometers from Chifeng. It encompasses three main scenic areas: Qigan, Bolongke Mountain, and Bjudun. The area is dominated by desert scenery and also integrates various landscapes including oases, desert lakes, rugged mountain rocks, Mongolian traditions, and the unique geological formation of potholes. It functions as a well-rounded tourist destination offering sightseeing, leisure and fitness activities, cultural experiences, ecological exploration, water recreation, and ethnic cuisine. Within the vast desert, there are numerous lakes of varying sizes, with the largest covering up to 15,000 mu. The area is also home to one of the famous Hongshan Culture sites — the excavation site of the Jade Dragon in Saihantala — which adds significant cultural depth to the tourist experience.
