Nanyan Dexian Building

Nanyan Dexian Building is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Nanyan Dexian Building is located in Gaoxin Village, Nanyan Town, approximately 62 kilometers southeast of Zijin County’s county seat and 2 kilometers from Nanyan Market. The building was constructed in the late Qing Dynasty and took over 30 years to complete. The entire structure is built with granite strip stones, bricks, tiles, and wood, featuring 120 rooms and covering a construction area of over 3,800 square meters. The main gate couplet reads: "Virtue aids the world; First, shine upon the family." The building boasts a unique layout and design, standing out among Hakka enclosed roundhouse complexes. Its upper and lower sections are connected with an elevation difference yet form a unified whole. The halls are arranged in an orderly fashion with good lighting, and the covered corridor connects all parts of the building. The rooftop ridges are walkable, and there is also an underground tunnel, making it a tangible piece of evidence for studying the modern history and culture of Nanyan. In 2010, Nanyan Dexian Building was announced as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. Since 2011, it has gradually attracted visitors.

In 2010, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of cultural relic protection units of Guangdong Province by the People's Government of Guangdong Province.
