Guishan Stone Building

Guishan Stone Building is a cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County.

Guishan Stone Building is located in Guishan Village, Longwo Town, 33 kilometers southeast of Zijin County and 5 kilometers from Longwo Township. The building was initially constructed in the 54th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1782) and took 40 to 50 years to complete. The main structure has a rectangular floor plan, covering an area of approximately 300 square meters, with a height of 6 stories (20 meters) and a total built-up area of 3,000 square meters. The first and second floors were built with granite strip stones, with walls 1.5 meters thick; the third to sixth floors were constructed with Ming Dynasty-standard fire bricks, with walls 50–60 centimeters thick.

In front of the main building is the principal residence, consisting of three sections with a total of 41 rooms, flanked by 70 wing rooms on both sides. There is a stone-paved pond in front of the entrance, supplemented by a square courtyard and enclosing walls, forming an architectural complex covering an area of 18,000 square meters. The couplet on the square courtyard gate reads: “Long blessed by Heaven’s grace; Spring fills my humble abode.” In January 1999, it was listed as a third batch cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County. In December 2002, with a fundraising of 160,000 yuan by the villagers of Guishan, the restoration of the main stone building was completed and opened for sightseeing.
