Lin Tian Tomb

Lin Tian Tomb is a cultural tourism attraction.

Lin Tian Tomb is located in Lintian Zuítóu Village, Fucheng Town, Zijin County. It was excavated in 1976. The tomb chamber is rectangular, measuring 3.88 meters in length and 0.9 meters in width, with a collapsed vaulted ceiling and sealed door. The left and right walls as well as the rear wall are divided into two tiers, built in a stepped pattern using rectangular bricks laid flat with staggered joints, while the tomb floor is covered with a single layer of horizontally laid bricks with staggered joints. A total of 26 artifacts were unearthed, including stone carvings, ceramic wares, and iron coffin nails. Among them, the stone reliefs feature dragons, tigers, phoenixes, and chickens, while the round stone sculptures include zodiac figurines, prostrate figures, upward-looking figures, and stone dogs. All are carved from reddish-brown sandstone and placed at the front end of the tomb chamber. The coffin wood and skeletal remains have decayed, with iron coffin nails scattered in the middle section of the tomb. There are two porcelain bowls covered entirely with bluish-white glaze and featuring petal-shaped rims, which are products of the Jingdezhen Kiln from the Northern Song Dynasty. The zodiac figurines have square-shaped faces, wear official caps, long-sleeved robes with diagonal collars, wide belts tied at the waist that drape down to the feet, square-toed boots on their feet, and stand holding ceremonial tablets with folded arms. Zodiac animals such as the rat, ox, tiger, and monkey are carved on the tops of the caps, making these small round sculptures among the finest examples of Guangdong’s Northern Song Dynasty artistry.
