Tomb of Lady Luo Banshiba

The Tomb of Lady Luo Banshiba is a cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County.

The Tomb of Lady Luo Banshiba is located on Dunzishang in Sunwupai Village, Zhongba Town, Zijin County. It is the burial site of the founding matriarch of the Sun clan who migrated southward to Guangdong during the Ming Dynasty, covering an area of approximately 30 square meters. The tomb faces south and is built with granite, consisting of a grave hall, an altar, and a tombstone, with its top resembling an upside-down iron wok. The tombstone is 0.70 meters high and 1.34 meters wide. The engraved inscription reads: “Repaired in the 33rd year of the Qianlong reign. Tomb of Lady Banshiba Luo, founding matriarch of the Sun clan, erected jointly by the four major branches.” The site is relatively well-preserved.

Lady Luo Banshiba originally lived in Hetian, Changting County, Fujian. During the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, she migrated southward with her husband Sun Yousong and settled in Changle County (now Wuhua; Zhongba Town was formerly under the jurisdiction of Changle County).

In 1987, the People's Government of Zijin County designated it as a cultural relic protection unit.

It borders Changbu Town of Wuhua County to the east and Huangcun Town of Dongyuan County to the north. Provincial Highway Guangxia runs through the town and connects with Zhongchang Highway at the town center, offering convenient transportation. The town covers a total area of 170 square kilometers, including 17,811 mu of paddy fields and 260,000 mu of mountainous land. It governs 14 administrative villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total of 7,021 households, a population of 36,213, and 21,500 laborers.
