Tomb of Zhong Zhenlu

The Tomb of Zhong Zhenlu is a cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County.

The Tomb of Zhong Zhenlu is located in Fengshuping, Xiaobei Village, Suqu Town, Zijin County. It is the tomb of a Ming Dynasty general, covering an area of approximately 1,300 square meters. The tomb is constructed of lime-sand rammed earth and includes a burial chamber, grave frame, grave hall, sacrificial altar, and tombstone. The tombstone stands 0.60 meters high and 0.43 meters wide, with the name and official title of the deceased engraved in intaglio. It was renovated during the Qing Dynasty and remains well-preserved.

Zhong Zhenlu, courtesy name Tiansheng, was a native of Yong’an (now Zijin County). During the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty, he ran an iron workshop on Nan’ao Island. When “Japanese pirates invaded the island,” Zhong Zhenlu was commended for bravely repelling the invaders and was appointed to the position of defender. He later served as the Guangdong Regional Commander-in-Chief and concurrently as the Left Grand Coordinator with military authority over both land and naval forces. After retiring in his later years, he passed away and was buried here.

In 1987, the People's Government of Zijin County designated it as a cultural relic protection unit.
